The Aloia group's history traces back to the centuries-old maritime and commercial tradition of the Amalfitans, expert sailors and shipowners who sailed the Mediterranean for centuries.
It was in this context that Pasquale Aloia was born in Salerno in 1855, during the reign of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies.
Having fully embraced Amalfi's merchant tradition, Pasquale married in Atrani, on the Amalfi Coast, in 1882 and dedicated his life to navigation and trade.
He served as a ship's captain and later as director of the Gioia Tauro branch of the Compagnia dei F.lli Gargano, a major Amalfi-based commercial enterprise.
Pasquale passed on to his sons, Vincenzo and Antonio, the values of integrity, dedication to work and foresight. Values that still guide the company today.

In the 1920s, Antonio Aloia, born in 1894 in Atrani on the Amalfi Coast, founded an independent food trading company with his brother Vincenzo. This marked the start of their international trade operations, beginning with the importation of grains from the United States of America to Naples.
Within a few years, the Aloia brothers' business expanded further thanks to the construction in Calabria region of a large warehouse for storing goods, including preserved fish imported from Northern Europe.
The technological advancements of the first half of the 20th century also reached the Aloia brothers' business, leading them to build an innovative roller mill for grinding wheat. Recognizing the commercial potential of pasta, Antonio and his brother decided to establish a pasta factory with some partners.
The first official document of the Vincenzo & Antonio Aloia Company is dated May 18, 1930, serving as concrete evidence of the solidity of a business that had by then gained commercial recognition.

After World War II, Domenico Aloia, born in Naples in 1926, continued the work of his father Antonio and established his own company in the Port of Naples, a strategic hub for international trade.
During the 1950s, the company specialized in importing preserved seafood products from Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and South Africa.

In the early 1970s, Domenico was joined by his son Riccardo Aloia, who, in 1973, launched the business as the exclusive Italian agency for foreign companies in the seafood sector.
The Aloia family thus became a leading player in the international seafood trade, combining proven technical expertise with a deep understanding of international markets.
In the 2000s, with the arrival of Giandomenico Aloia, Riccardo's son, the company entered a new phase of expansion.
The agency business was complemented by the selection and distribution of specialty foods from around the world, thereby consolidating a global network of selected partners.

Today, the Aloia group proudly continues an entrepreneurial journey that has spanned over a century.
Year after year, it faces new challenges while remaining steadfast in the values of integrity that have always set it apart.

The Aloia group works with a select network of international partners with whom, in most cases, it shares a long history of family-run business.
